The Politics Team

After a period of communism on October 23, 1989 Hungary became a parliamentary republic. Since that, 5 elections have been held.

In 1990, the winner party was the Hungarian Democratic Forum (MDF). In 1994 the Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP) won in coalition with The Liberal Alliance of Free Democrats (SZDSZ). From 1998 until 2002 the country was governed by the Alliance of Young Democrats (FIDESZ) in coalition with the Hungarian Democratic Forum (MDF). After this, in 2002 and 2006, the MSZP and the SZDSZ won again, forming a coalition.

Now the parties are electioneering: the campaign lasts from January 22 until the day before the election, April 10. Hungary votes on April 11.

In our project, we will try to present the campaign through our photos. We will present you the spots of the Hungarian politics: the Parliament, the Ministries and the local governments of the districts of Budapest and the towns nearby.
